Yogi Adityanath government is promoting organic farming in select 24 districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Organic farming has been undertaken in an area of about 31,000 acres spread over 620 clusters, thus benefitting thousands of farmers, according to the state government.
Hamirpur district in Bundelkhand region had been selected to be developed as a model for organic farming. So far, the project had been completed in 140 clusters in the district.
Besides, a state level organic certification body had been instituted to promote organic farming. Meanwhile, the state agriculture department had already distributed more than 17 million soil health cards to farmers.
