More than 231,000 hectares of additional irrigation potential has been created in Uttar Pradesh under irrigation projects, now clubbed under newly constituted Jal Shakti ministry.
These pertain to 8 different projects spanning 2 years of the incumbent Yogi Adityanath government. These irrigation projects include Bansagar Nahar, Jamrar Dam, Pahunj Dam, Pahadi Dam, Gunta Dam Restoration/ Renovation of Allied Work, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Pathrai Dam, Lehchura Dam and Maudaha Dam Nahar Potential Restoration projects.
Besides, nearly 429,000 hectares of additional irrigation potential is likely to be added with projects already underway and aimed at augmenting farmers’ income.
