Lucknow, 27 Oct
Yogi Adityanath government has selected developers for 2 mega expressway projects in Uttar Pradesh.
Four private companies have been picked up to develop 296 km Bundelkhand Expressway and 91 km Gorakhpur Link Expressway, after the state bid evaluation committee opened the financial bids on Friday. It has selected Apco Infratech, Ashoka Buildcon, Gawar Construction and Dilip Buildcon to develop these projects.
According to UP Expressway Development Authority (UPEID), the state would save Rs 1,229 crore against the total estimated expenditure on the 2 expressways, since the winning bids had quoted lowest prices.
The state has divided the projects in separate packages for speedy completion, while the financial bids were likewise submitted separately.
UPEIDA had estimated civil expenditure to cost Rs 8,898 crore and Rs 3,122 crore (total Rs 12,020 crore) for Bundelkhand and Gorakhpur Link expressways respectively. However, the winning bids had quoted cost of Rs 7,767 crore (Bundelkhand) and Rs 3,024 crore (Gorakhpur Link), thus totalling Rs 10,791 crore in total.
Bundelkhand and Gorakhpur Link expressways have been divided into 6 and 2 packages respectively.
